Today is self-esteem & self-love exercise. If you can increase your self love then you will increase the amount of joy you can receive. Learning to accept compliments is an easy way to start this work.
Even if you don't believe what's being said is true, be gracious and appreciative and take that compliment inside yourself. Someone is offering you a ball of joyful, appreciative energy - don't reject that! That is the best kind of energy.
Say 'thank you' and practice feeling grateful for the compliment. You don't need to believe it, you only need to believe it was offered in sincerity.
Own your lovely parts. The parts of you that make other people want to explain their appreciation. Own that! That's your sweet spot. If you find you don't get a lot of compliments then start putting out a load. Make sure they're genuine though, don't just say things for the sake of it. What we put out in the world impacts on what we get back. Put out loving appreciation and you will get it back.
So today, give a meaningful compliment, or say a simple thank you if you receive one.
